BI’s plan and implement 1-1 intervention sessions with children with autism spectrum disorder on a daily basis, in homes and community settings in Delta, Surrey and Langley. Programs are implemented as per the child’s Behavioural Plan of Intervention (BPI) and ongoing consultation and recommendations from the child’s Behaviour Consultant, Associate Behaviour Consultant, Occupational Therapist (OT), and Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Reports To: ABA Assistant Program Manager
BI Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Implements 1-1 intervention sessions with the child via the programs provided by the child’s clinical team.
2. Track’s data on each program during the intervention session as outlined in the child’s program binder.
3. Contributes to team meetings by reporting accurate and relevant information in a respectful manner.
4. Identifies behaviour challenges and consults with the BC and the ABC. Contributes to the development of and follows positive behaviour support (PBS) plans as outlined by the BC and/or ABC.
5. Openly accepts feedback and employs recommendations from the ABC, OT, SLP and BC.
6. Actively participates in the ongoing ABA training programs.
7. Maintains and organizes child’s program binders.
8. Develops materials as discussed at child’s team meetings for the child’s programs/intervention sessions
9. Communicates professionally and respectfully with families and ABA staff.
10. Schedules intervention sessions with families. Ensures that families are notified of changes in scheduling, including cancellations. Arrives to scheduled appointments on time
11. Updates intervention schedule on Sharevision regularly.
12. Accurately completes intervention invoices in a timely manner.
13. Maintains professional boundaries with families.

The following are required to perform this job:
• A vehicle for transportation to families’ homes, staff meetings, training and community settings.
• Cell phone with voice mail.
• Clear criminal record search.
• Current Child Safe First-Aid certificate.
• Doctor’s clearance letter stating that the Behaviour Interventionist is physically and mentally able to work with children as per this job description and that he/she meets the following physical requirements:
• Able to drive to different locations within Tsawwassen, Delta, Surrey, White Rock, Langley, and Aldergrove when required.
• Pushing and pulling large bins (e.g. 83 litre Rubber Made bin) containing toys, books, and program materials.
• Physically able to provide physical prompting/guidance to children learning gross motor (e.g., jumping, riding a trike/bike) and self-help (e.g., dressing, toileting) tasks
• Physically able “keep up” with busy children throughout the intervention session which may include running, squatting, kneeling, bending and sitting on child sized chairs.
• Able to work with children with challenging behaviours
